Elevating Player Experiences: Championing Player-Centered Design and Transforming Game Development By Spearheading User-Centered Design

My journey at Azra Games was marked by my passionate advocacy for player-centered design thinking and my role in pioneering a comprehensive User Research initiative that spanned across platforms, encompassing mobile, PC, and console gaming experiences. My commitment to elevating the player experience was the core of this endeavor.

One of the cornerstones of my contributions was the initiation of a comprehensive User Research framework. This initiative involved in-person and remote playtests, offering valuable insights into player behaviors, preferences, and pain points. These insights became the bedrock of our design decisions, empowering us to create a gaming experience that resonated deeply with our target audience.

For a more in-depth look at this playtest effort and its impact, I encourage you to explore my Medium article titled The Playtest is coming. It provides a detailed account of how our player-centered approach influenced the development of Project Legends.

A key accomplishment during this phase was the implementation of design libraries and rapid prototyping. These tools streamlined our development process, enabling us to iterate rapidly and gather feedback effectively. This agile approach ensured that we could swiftly respond to player input and refine our designs for end-to-end enhancements. It was a critical component of our iterative feedback loop, ensuring that player-centric improvements were seamlessly integrated into the game's development.

My time at Azra Games working on Project Legends was an exhilarating journey in the realm of this game’s design. It allowed me to merge my passion for player-centered experiences with the practical implementation of innovative design methodologies. This project is a testament to the power of placing players at the heart of game development, and I'm proud to have been a part of it.
